KITCHENER -- A 27-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle motorcycle collision in Kitchener.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Ottawa Street North and Dreger Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The motorcycle reportedly left the road and hit a hydro pole.
The rider was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital and later pronounced dead.
Speed is considered to be a factor in the collision, according to officials.
Regional Police add that the crash comes on the heels of their two week road campaign 'Operation Overpass', which focuses on speeding.
"We're just reminding motorists to slow down," said Cnst. Ashley Dietrich of WRPS.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Waterloo Regional Police.
On Saturday, Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services confirmed that paramedic Steven Rabak passed away after a motorcycle crash in Kitchener.

The services say many of the paramedic community in Waterloo Region graduated from the tight-knit Conestoga College program, including Rabak.
"Steven was a three-year veteran of Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services and was also employed as a firefighter with Mississauga Fire & Emergency Services," said Chief Stephen VanValkenburg in a statement. "We share our sense of loss and grief with them."

On Saturday, flowers, a note from Missisauga Fire, and pictures made up a vigil for Rabak at the scene of the crash. Flags were half-mast at the Region of Waterloo Paramedics Services headquarters on Sunday.
Cambridge Fire officials have confirmed that Steven's father Adrian Rabak is a senior firefighter on their force and that he was following in his Dad's footsteps.
