The OPP and Waterloo Regional Police Service have arrested and charged a 29-year-old man from Owen Sound with child Internet luring.
Corey Brown was arrested in Waterloo on Thursday, and charged with one count of luring a child to facilitate a sexual offence and one count of breach of probation.
An investigation began in mid-April, after "several citizens received unsolicited cellular text message seeking sexual encounters from an individual portraying to be a 15-year-old boy," according to an OPP press release.
Some of the people who received the text message were children under 12-years-old.
Brown was identified and arrested after an online undercover investigation. He was being held in custody pending a hearing on Thursday afternoon.
The OPP say the investigation is ongoing.
This arrest comes less than a week after a 20-year-old man from Owen Sound was charged with luring in a separate case.
