2-4 cm of snow expected in Ottawa today

Commuters will want to give themselves some extra time to get around Ottawa today, as snow blankets roads and sidewalks.

Environment Canada's forecast calls for 2-4 centimetres of snow through the day, with periods of snow ending between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The temperature will warm up to 0 C today.

Cloudy tonight with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. Low -5 C with the wind chill making it feel like -12.

Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High -7 C.

The outlook for Thursday calls for cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -5 C.

Friday will be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -5 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -6 C and a low of -16 C.

Rideau Canal Skateway

The green flag continues to fly on a four-kilometre section of the Rideau Canal Skateway.

The National Capital Commission opened the world's largest skateway between Laurier Avenue and Bank Street on Saturday.
