For two days this week, police set up shop in four of Norfolk County’s most collision-prone stretches of road.
They were watching for speeders, distracted drivers, and motorists committing other sorts of infractions – and apparently found plenty of them.
Drivers were charged or ticketed for a total of 60 offences – more than half of which were for speeding.
Five distracted driving charges were laid, and police say they found five people driving without proper insurance.
Other offences logged included driving while suspended, failing to stop at red or amber lights, disobeying stop sighs, failure to report a collision, seatbelt infractions, careless driving, making an unsafe lane change, and drug and liquor offences.
Most of the intersections targeted were in or around Simcoe, but also included in the initiative was Brantford Road near Delhi.
