OPP say they’re seeking a driver who hit a teen cyclist outside Owen Sound, then drove off before police arrival.

According to Grey County OPP, a red Toyota was travelling eastbound on Highway 6 & 21 around 9:25 a.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle attempted to turn left into the Grey County Mall, allegedly striking a westbound cyclist as it did so.

Police say the driver of the vehicle had a “brief conversation” with the cyclist before leaving the area.

The cyclist, a 17-year-old Owen Sound boy, was treated in hospital for minor injuries and later released.

Police continue to seek the driver of the Toyota, who is described as a thin woman, approximately 50 to 60 years old, with white hair and glasses.

The driver’s side mirror of her vehicle may be damaged or missing.
