A serious collision between a van and a tractor trailer closed part of Highway 24 in Cambridge Tuesday evening.

OPP say they vehicles collided head on.

Half of the truck is in the ditch, and there is serious damage to the van.

The driver of the van, a 68-year-old Cambridge man was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital.

Highway 24 was closed for four hours between Myers and Lockie Roads while police investigated.

There is still no cause of the crash. No charges have been laid.
