CHATHAM, Ont. - All lanes of Highway 401 in the Chatham-Kent area have reopened following a deadly collision.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on Monday in the eastbound lanes between Highway 40 and Kent Bridge Road.

Police say a westbound tractor-trailer crossed the median and crashed into a car in the eastbound lanes.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver and a passenger in the car were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

The westbound lanes of the 401 reopened by 10:30 a.m., and the eastbound lanes opened just before 2 p.m.
