Waterloo Region police are investigating after a 25-year-old man was shot and killed in a Kitchener parking lot on Thursday evening.
Around 7 p.m., police say they responded to a parking lot on Belmont Street near Gage Avenue after reports of a disturbance.
At the scene a 25-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound and no vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Early results of the investigation indicate the victim may have been targeted and a male suspect is believed to have fled in a vehicle.

No names have been released and police say a post mortem is expected on Friday.
