$20K in cocaine, pills seized in drug raid at downtown Sudbury home

Three people have been charged with drug trafficking after raids by police in Hearst uncovered more than $40,000 in illegal drugs.

An investigation into a suspected drug dealer in Greater Sudbury led a woman being charged and the seizure of $20,000 in cocaine and pills.

The drug enforcement unit started the investigation earlier this month, Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release Wednesday.

“On Jan. 16, members of the integrated crime section with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led provincial guns & gangs enforcement team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at an address on Oak Street,” police said.

“During the search warrant, detectives seized over 133 grams of Cocaine, 771 Methamphetamine tablets and 52 prescription pills worth approximately $20,000.”

A 31-year-old woman has been charged with four counts of drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and driving while suspended.

She has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 12.
