It wasn’t a happy ending for three people who allegedly stole an ATM from The Manor in Guelph.

Guelph Police say they got a call shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday from somebody who saw what looked like a pickup truck trying to force its way into the strip club and sometimes church on Silvercreek Parkway.

According to police, an ATM was then chained to the truck and yanked out of the building.

Officers arrived at the scene just in time to find the truck dragging the ATM away from the building.

A police chase ensued, during which the truck managed to elude police, but the ATM became dislodged and ended up on the side of the Wellington Road.

Police say they want to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle, which they lost track of as it was westbound on Wellington Street, west of the Hanlon Parkway.

They describe the truck as a dark-coloured, four-door vehicle with a short box, possibly a Ford F150, and say it may have been dragging a chain but otherwise did not have visible damage.

Police believe there were three people in the truck at the time.
