Some of the NHL's brightest young stars were in St. Marys for a charity hockey game Wednesday night. London-native Logan Couture of the San Jose Sharks hosted the event, as 28 players from the NHL, OHL and GOHL put on a show for hundreds of fans in attendance.

The NHL stars included Olympic gold medalist Drew Doughty, who played his junior hockey for the Guelph Storm, and Guelph-native Rich Peverley of the Stanley Cup-winning Boston Bruins.

The evening also included a pre-game autograph session. Fans were lined up out the door to meet their favourite players, who signed sticks, jerseys, posters and pucks.

Organizers are hoping to raise more than $10,000. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the St. Marys Lincolns Junior 'B' team and Lucan Minor Hockey.
