A 31-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving causing death in connection with a crash that killed two people, including one man from New Hamburg.

Cody Andrews, 23, was killed in the Thursday morning crash along with 46-year-old London resident Jerry Pitre.

Scott Altiman, who lives in Delaware, Ont., is facing charges in relation to the crash.

He is also in hospital, and was listed as being in serious condition as of Friday morning.

London Police say they’re still investigating the crash and want to hear from any witnesses.

They have been able to determine that Altiman’s Dodge Charger was travelling at a “high rate of speed” when it collided with a Buick. Andrews and Pitre were in the back seat of the Buick.

The driver and front-seat passenger of the Buick were also hospitalized. On Friday, their conditions were listed as fair.
