A Stratford man received what police termed “life-altering injuries” after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck east of Stratford.

The collision occurred around 7:20 a.m. Thursday, on Perth Line 33 at Perth Road 111.

Officials say the motorcyclist was waiting to turn left onto Perth Road 111 when the truck failed to stop for him.

An air ambulance was called in to transport the 31-year-old motorcyclist to hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 70-year-old man from Perth East, was not injured but was charged with careless driving.

Police say they want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen either vehicle before it occurred.

The intersection remained closed until approximately 3:30 p.m.
