OWEN SOUND, Ont. - A man who had just completed the auxiliary program with Owen Sound police died in a motorcycle crash near the central Ontario community.
Thomas McCartney, 24, of Bruce County, died after his motorcycle collided with a van on Highway 21 around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
It happened as the van was turning left into a parking lot, just east of Grey Road 3.
The impact threw McCartney off his bike and into a north ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van, a Grey County woman, was not hurt.
Police are continuing to investigate.
