Tecumseh OPP say an Amherstburg man is facing additional charges in connection with a crash that killed a Michigan woman on Saturday.

Twenty-seven-year-old Cole Rickett faces charges including four counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and one count of impaired driving causing death.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at Walker Road and South Talbot Road in Tecumseh and sent a family of five from Michigan to hospital.

The 44-year-old mother, who was a passenger, passed away later that day. The father, along with a two-year-old and five-year-old have since been released from hospital.

An eight-year-old remains in hospital in Michigan and her status is listed as progressing.

Rickett suffered only minor injuries in the crash.
