Waterloo Regional Police say additional charges have been laid in connection with a suspected drug lab in Burlington.

Jamie Christopher Porteous, 33, and Kanor Kabutey, 30, have now been charged with a number of drug offences related to the facility.

Porteus has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and production of MDMA.

Kabutey has been charged with possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and production of MDMA.

Previously, the two men had been charged with drug offences in connection with a drug lab found in Cambridge in May 2010.

Evidence found at that location led police to the second facility in Burlington on Nov. 19, 2010, where over $7.5 million in drugs and $150,000 in cash was seized.

Waterloo Regional Police Insp. Doug Theil says "Predominantly the drugs are MDMA, which is commonly referred to as ecstasy and methamphetamine, which is normally referred to as speed."

The two men made a brief court appearance Tuesday in light of the new charges.

Defence lawyer Sarah Williams says "The bail hearing hasn't commenced at this time and it's expected we will be having a bail hearing sometime in the next week or so."

The pair are expected to appear again on Wednesday to set the date for that bail hearing.

However that may not mark the end of the case, as Thiel says "There's the potential that additional charges and arrests may be made."
