The fraud trial of two former executives at Imagine Adoption continued Wednesday with testimony from two home renovators and an RCMP officer.

Rick and Susan Hayhow are accused of using $420,000 of agency funds to pay for personal expenses.

Wednesday, court heard from an employee of a fencing company who said his company was paid for a project at the then-couple’s home in Cambridge.

Jurors were then shown a $1,300 cheque from Imagine Adoption to the fencing company, allegedly signed by both Rick and Susan Hayhow.

A former employee of a tiling company also testified Wednesday, saying an Imagine Adoption cheque was used to pay for $1,700 worth of work at the same home.

During cross-examination of the fencing company representative, Susan Hayhow’s lawyer claimed his client was out of the country when the fencing cheque was issued.

Third on the stand Wednesday was an RCMP officer, who led jurors through an assortment of bank accounts belonging to the non-profit agency.

Imagine Adoption went bankrupt in 2009.

Two years later, the Hayhows were arrested and charged with fraud.
