A Durham-area raw milk producer has won his court battle on charges of theft and mischief.

Michael Schmidt was charged in October in connection with the disappearance of two cameras posted near his farm.

Police did not reveal who owned the cameras, but said they were for legitimate purposes, while Schmidt says a Ministry of Natural Resources official told him that the ministry owned them.

In yesterday's court decision, the judge said the Crown failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Schmidt had taken the cameras so he was acquitted of the charges.
