Nearly 200 pigs were killed in another barn fire north of Stratford on Saturday. Fortunately most of the animals were saved thanks to helpings hands.

Out of 2000 pigs, approximately 182 did not make it out alive. Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to get at the flames while local farmers rushed to the barn to help corral the pigs.

It happened on Line 49 near the village of Monkton. The fire took five hours to put out.

Most of the barn is still intact; the cost of damage is under investigation.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but firefighters say it is not considered suspicious.
