Alexandra Pinto

CTV News Kitchener Anchor

Alexandra Pinto joined the CTV Kitchener news team as a Videographer in 2014. She became the anchor of CTV News at Six in January 2021.

Alexandra started her journalism career in 2012, working as an editorial assistant and on the assignment desk in the Global News Toronto newsroom, contributing to the News Hour show daily, the 2012 London Olympic Games, Toronto International Film Festival and coverage of the Rob Ford scandal at Toronto City Hall.

She then had the opportunity to take on the role as community reporter for Global's Your Community segment, where she covered community news and events for the summer of 2013. It was then Alexandra fell in love with reporting and wanted to pursue her dream. Alexandra would also act as a backfill reporter, where she covered breaking news and the 2014 Toronto city budget.

While attending journalism school, Alexandra volunteered with Rogers TV London, where she reported, produced, and worked behind the scenes for local programming. She also worked for CTV News Toronto as an assignment and consumer intern and while interning with Global News Toronto, she had the experience of shadowing a reporter during the Tori Stafford murder trial.

Alexandra was raised in Caledon, Ontario and attended Fanshawe College's Television Broadcasting program and graduated with honours from their Broadcast Journalism-Television News Post Graduate program.
