Canada Post plans to resume mail delivery to about 3,100 residents and businesses on Thursday, pending a review of air quality tests for both the town of Goderich and the downtown post office location.

The delivery will cover approximately 80 per cent of the 3,860 addresses Canada Post normally delivers to in Goderich.

Only businesses or residences which were in the direct path of the tornado will not have their normal delivery. Canada Post is currently considering deliver options for those customers.

Plans also call for the relocation of all employees to the East Street location. Full retail services are scheduled to resume at noon on Thursday.

The pickup of mail from the red street letter boxes is back to normal as is the delivery of parcels and personal contact items to areas which can be safely accessed has resumed.

Canada Post says it appreciates the patience and understanding of their customers while the community continues to recover from this devastating event.
