Provincial police say a Guelph resident has learned they're serious about combating distracted driving.

Police say an officer stopped a 40-year-old Guelph woman on Highway 401 in Cambridge on Monday for using a cellphone while driving.

About 30 minutes later, police say the same driver was stopped by another OPP officer on Highway 6 in Flamborough for the same offence.

Police are reminding motorists distracted driving carries an out-of-court fine of $280 and is a major cause of collisions.
