An Australian company that specializes in supply chain integration has been bought up by Waterloo’s Descartes Systems Group.

Descartes announced its US$2.7 million purchase of 4Solutions Friday.

“We continue to look for opportunities around the world to expand the geographic reach, functional capabilities and the community of supply chain participants on our Global Logistics Network,” Descartes CEO Edward J. Ryan said in a press release.

According to the company, the purchase will allow Descartes to expand its presence in Australia and Asia.

Last month, Descartes announced a US$5.8-million purchase of Appterra, an American company which also focuses on cloud-based supply chain integration.
