Basement fire leads to smoke damage throughout house

A basement fire on Courtland Avenue in Kitchener is estimated at $50 thousand in damage.

Fire crews were called around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and say it started when the occupant inside was doing renovations on the house.

There is smoke damage throughout the house. No one was hurt.
