The man who crashed a stolen pickup truck into another vehicle, killing its 18-year-old driver, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Richard Gamble, 50, was found guilty of criminal negligence causing death and other charges relating to the October 2014 crash near Colborne and Gilkison streets in Brantford.

Ashley Lerno, a Brantford woman, was driving the car that was hit by the stolen truck, which Gamble was driving as he and another man were being chased by police after evading a RIDE check in Burford.

Lerno died in hospital several days later. A passenger in her car was also injured.
