BURLINGTON, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police say injuries have been downgraded to non-life-threatening after a multi-vehicle collision involving an SUV and a tour bus carrying 27 passengers on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington.
Police say six vehicles were involved in Saturday morning's collision, with the most serious incident occurring when a Jeep Cherokee collided with the coach bus on the highway (near the Burlington Skyway).
Paramedics took the two occupants of the Jeep, a 45-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman of Grand Valley, Ont., to a Hamilton hospital with injuries that were later determined to be non-life-threatening.
The 40-year-old Brampton woman driving the bus also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, while another bus was sent to pick up the stranded travellers.
Police say none of the 27 bus passengers were injured and the other four vehicles involved in the crash suffered minor damage with no injuries to the occupants.
The OPP said the investigation into the crash is ongoing but all lanes had been reopened by early afternoon.
