A couple from Milton, Ontario faces multiple charges related to an alleged marijuana grow operation, bestiality, steroids and a firearm.

Halton Region police say a search at a property on Thursday uncovered more than 1,600 pot plants in a building that doubled as a dog kennel.

Police say in addition to marijuana, officers seized anabolic steroids, a 12-gauge shotgun and evidence they allege is related to bestiality.

Two young children were found living with the accused and police have notified the Halton Children's Aid Society in addition to the Milton Humane Society.

Ryan Brett faces a total of five charges and Donna Fleury, who is also 34, faces three.

Brett was being held for a bail hearing and Fleury was released on a promise to appear.
