ROCKFORD, Ont. - Ontario's Special Investigatons Unit has released the name of a man who died after a shootout with police north of Owen Sound, Ont.

David Cameron, 61, of Chatsworth, Ont., was found dead Monday night in a wooded area near Kemble.

Provincial police say he led officers on a chase that started at Grew Boat Manufacturing in Rockford, south of Owen Sound.

Police say it started when a 44-year-old man was shot at when he tried to intervene in an altercation between a man and a woman Monday night.

The woman managed to escape and a Georgian Bluffs Township man is recovering from a gunshot wound in a London, Ont., hospital.

Police say the suspect exchanged fire with police after his pickup was stopped by a spike belt, and he fled on foot. No officers were injured.
