Nearly two weeks after a police officer was stabbed in Cambridge and responded by shooting her alleged attacker, two of the three people injured in the incident remain in hospital.

On April 30, a domestic dispute call brought Waterloo Regional Police officers to a Morning Calm Drive townhouse for the second time that day.

It's alleged that a man at the townhouse stabbed an officer, after which she shot him.

A woman believed to be the victim of the initial domestic incident was found inside the townhouse with multiple stab wounds.

She and the man were both taken to a Hamilton hospital, where they underwent surgery.

A police spokesperson said Wednesday that both remain in hospital.

The case continues to be investigated internally by Waterloo Regional Police, and externally by Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit.
