GLENCOE, Ont. - A 24-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a Via Rail train hit a pickup truck west of Glencoe, Ont.

Provincial police say six passengers have non-life-threatening injuries after the collision at a crossing about 10:40 a.m. near the community 60 kilometres southwest of London.

Const. Liz Melvin says no information is being released about the pickup driver.

Via Rail says the train was travelling from Oshawa to Windsor with 99 passengers and seven crew members on board.

Spokeswoman Anne-Sophie Desmeules says a locomotive and four cars derailed but remained upright. She says no passengers suffered serious injuries.

Via is making arrangements to take the passengers to their destinations.
