A man is facing a long list of charges after the Guelph Police Service received two complaints on Sunday afternoon.

In the first call, police were told a man went to a gas station on College Road West and stole $50 worth of gas.

The second call claimed the same man had parked in a lot near Eramosa Road and was acting erratically.

Before officers arrived at the parking lot, they determined the man was driving a vehicle stolen from another city on Dec. 5.

While police were arresting the 30-year-old man, they said he was twitching, his eyes were shifting rapidly and he was having a hard time focusing.

Officers also found several small bags of what they believe to be an unidentified drug.

They determined the man was wanted in Peel Region and Halton Region.

He was taken to a police station for a drug test. Police said the test confirmed he was impaired by a central nervous system stimulant and narcotic analgesics.

The man was charged with theft under $5,000, eight counts of operation of a conveyance while prohibited, 10 counts of breaching probation, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of schedule I drugs, two counts of driving while suspended and operation while impaired.
