PINERY PROVINCIAL PARK, Ont. - A Mississauga man faces a charge of animal cruelty after a dog was left in a hot van at Pinery Provincial Park, north of Sarnia, Ont.

A number of people were concerned the dog was in distress and alerted park officials, who smashed a window in the van to rescue the dog.

Provincial police laid the animal cruelty charge against 39-year-old Jonathan Bahl on Sunday night.

He will appear in court in Sarnia a later date.
