A confrontation between two men resulted in one being taken to hospital, and the other facing assault charges.
A 40-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were walking on Dundas Street near Light Street in Woodstock Friday evening.
Police say a 28-year-old man that was also in the area started yelling at the 40-year-old man.
The two exchanged words and the younger man pulled out a black BB-style gun and struck the other man in the eye.
He proceeded to beat the man after he fell to the ground.
The suspect fled the area but was apprehended a short time later by officers and the K9 unit.
The 40-year-old was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was released.
The 28-year-old was charged with assault with a weapon.
