Three Kitchener churches had their windows broken over the weekend.

Police were first called to Central Baptist Church on Ottawa Street South early Sunday morning, where they found that multiple windows and an illuminated sign had been smashed.

A 39-year-old Kitchener man was arrested nearby, and charged with three counts of mischief and breaching probation.

After investigation, police believe the same man is responsible for damaging a sign at a nearby business.

Highland Baptist Church on Highland Road West and Country Hills Church at Ottawa Street South and Fischer Hallman Road also reported damage to several windows.

Police say they anticipate laying further charges.
