A Kitchener man was taken to Hamilton General Hospital by air ambulance after falling off scaffolding at a Kitchener construction site.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. at a home under construction in the Doon South neighbourhood, near South Creek and Stauffer drives.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, sustained what are believed to be serious head injuries in the fall.

The Ministry of Labour is at the site speaking to witnesses.

It is not known is the man was working for homebuilder Hawksview Homes or was a contractor carrying out work at the site.

Hawksview Homes officials declined to speak to CTV News.
