Thomas Cushing will be able to afford a whole lot of halftime snacks.

The Kitchener man won $1 million from an instant lottery ticket he bought at a Kitchener gas station.

In an OLG press release, Cushing said that he left his house at halftime of a basketball game, looking for some food, and bought the ticket “on a whim.”

He took the ticket home and scratched it.

“When I realized that I won $1 million, I looked at my dog and said ‘We’re going to be OK,’” he said.

Cushing plans to use spend some of his winnings on a new car and a “wonderful holiday season.”

He bought his Instant $100,000,000 Diamond Payout ticket at a Husky gas station on Victoria Street.
