Frigid temperatures start the week, some snow squall warnings in effect

A heavy band of lake effect snow off Lake Huron has resulted in snow squall warnings for Huron, Perth, Bruce and Grey counties.

Lake-effect snow could bring anywhere from 10 to 20 cm in parts of the region as well as reduced visibility and heavy local blowing snow.

Temperatures to start the week are bitterly cold with the wind chill making feel even colder.

For Monday, the daytime high is just -13 C and the wind chill brings that to -26 C.

The normal high for this time of year is around -3 C and the overnight low around -10 C.

Environment Canada is also warning about the risk of frostbit with the frigid temperatures.
