A London man charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend has been granted bail.

Christopher Gale, 29, was arrested in July days after Jocelyn Bishop's body was found buried in a shallow grave in a field behind the couple's home.

Police say Bishop died of a gun shot wound to the head.

An Ontario Superior Court judge granted bail on Friday, with several strict conditions.

Gale was initially denied bail when he was arrested.

Gale must live with his aunt in St. Thomas, only leaving their home for personal medical needs, or to see his lawyer.

Gale is facing an additional 23 charges, including offering an indignity to a body as well as more than 20 drug and gun related offences.
