Wilfrid Laurier University is celebrating its 100th anniversary this fall. Part of the celebrations includes honouring Laurier’s 100 Alumni of Achievement.
Among the recipients is CTV’s Daiene Vernile, who anchors and produces the award-winning Provincewide program.
“I was stunned and gratified when I heard I was being included on this list. And when I heard that there had been 80,000 people who have graduated from this university, I mean, I was really, really humbled to be included,” Vernile said.
Other honouress included former UN Ambassador Paul Heinbecker and opera singer Jane Archibald.
Vernile been a part of Provincewide since the program began in 1985. She holds a bachelors degree in history from Wilfrid Laurier University.
