The body of a Kitchener man who went missing nearly four years ago has been found near a lake in northern Ontario, provincial police say.

Daniel Trask disappeared without a word in November 2011.

About a week later, his car was found in the parking lot of Camp Wanapitei, north of North Bay.

Police searched the area at the time, but didn’t find any signs of Trask.

The following spring, some of his clothing was found along the shoreline of Diamond Lake, about 140 km to the north.

His backpack turned up in 2013, but his whereabouts remained unknown.

That changed Monday, Temiskaming OPP say, when human remains were found near Lady Evelyn Lake – not far from Camp Wanapitei.

Forensic tests showed that the remains were that of Trask.

Police continue to investigate his death.
