Three days after a 67-year-old woman was killed in a house fire in Kitchener, investigators have still been unable to get into the home.

The fire broke out Monday morning at a home on Second Avenue.

Ann Paleczny was found in the living room of the home by firefighters. She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Waterloo Regional Police said Thursday that her cause of death had been determined to be smoke inhalation.

The fire remains under investigation by police, the Kitchener Fire Department, the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the Coroner’s Office.
