CHATHAM, Ont. - Hundreds of pigs were lost in a barn fire near Chatham in southwestern Ontario this morning.
Fire officials say about 400 pigs were trapped in a huge barn fire on Kent Bridge Road, near Highway 401.
A neighbour called in the blaze around 10 a.m.
Officials say some of the pigs managed to escape the barn but had to be put down.
Only about 50 survived.
