Four people remain behind bars as police try to figure out just what led to the death of Henry Jarsch.
Jarsch was found dead Sunday night outside a home on Erb’s Road, just north of Baden.
Others in the area reported hearing gunshots, and police later found two men in Kitchener suffering from gunshot wounds believed connected to Jarsch’s death.
The current working theory, Waterloo Regional Police tell CTV News, is that those two – Denis Gagnon and Scott White, both 37 – and Jarsch were working together, attempting to rob the property.
Crawford Lamka, who lived at the site, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with Jarsch’s death.
Claude Ouellette, a 52-year-old Kitchener man, is charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact.
He will appear in court Wednesday for a bail hearing.
Defence lawyer Hal Mattson is representing Gagnon.
He says he expects conflicting stories about the events of Sunday night to emerge from the various parties.
“I think the word that would describe what is going on is ‘confusion,’” he tells CTV News.
“The police are probably going to have to do a lot of work to figure out what happened there.”
Police say they have yet to receive results of a post-mortem examination on Jarsch.
