Three people pleaded guilty in a Kitchener courtroom on Monday to drug charges in connection with a massive bust last year.
Nicola Dancetovic pleaded guilty to charges of possession, trafficking and production of marijuana and other drugs. Richard Kunst and Paul MacNamara pleaded guilty to similar charges.
Brennan Smart, MacNamara's defence lawyer, says "The Crown is proceeding against individuals on discreet criminal charges."
The men were allegedly members of an organized crime group called the Luminati Brotherhood Club that was targeted by police a year ago.
In October 2010, 26 people were arrested in connection with a large scale drug bust executed by the Waterloo Regional Police Service with the assistance of several other forces.
Dubbed Project Grand Slam, police seized more than $3.2 million in drugs and nine guns in the operation.
At the time of the bust Waterloo Regional Police Supt. Gary Askin told the media "Like other criminal organizations we found them to be involved in the sale, production and even in the theft of illicit narcotics."
The group was also believed to be affiliated with the Hell's Angels.
In a statement of facts the Crown presented to the courts, phone calls and text messages intercepted by police were revealed.
One series of text messages had Dancetovic agreeing to sell someone cocaine for $50.
Sentencing for the three who pleaded guilty on Monday is expected early next year and two more suspects will appear in court later this week.
