Wellington County OPP and the Minto fire department have confirmed that a bridge fire on the walking trail between Palmerston and Harriston was deliberately set.
The incident took place on August 6 around 1:00 p.m. between 3rd Line and the 5th Line, near Wellington Road 5 known as Whites Road.
Firefighters say the bridge sustained severe damage and is no longer accessible to the public.
The damage is estimated to be over $50,000
