A Guelph man is facing an attempted murder charge after a disturbance Thursday morning.

Guelph Police were called to a home near downtown just before 7 a.m. after a passerby reported an injured male walking on Arthur Street South.

An officer found the male at Wellington Street East and Neeve Street.

Investigators noticed signs of a struggle at a nearby home and found a second man with injuries to his head and face. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery and breaking into a residence to commit an indictable offence.

Police said the men knew each other and this was a targeted incident.
