Waterloo Region police say five people have been charged after a drug bust in Cambridge on Tuesday night.
A search warrant was executed at 25 Kerr Street in Cambridge around 10 p.m. that resulted in the arrest of the five people.
Nine grams of heroin and less than two grams of marijuana as well as some cash were seized at the scene.
Lynda Kraehling, 48, is facing two charges of trafficking heroin while 42-year-old John Resendes is charged with possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking and possession of heroin and marijuana.
Michael James, Gordon Melanson and Darcy Heeney, all aged 31, have been charged with possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking and possession of heroin and marijuana.
James and Melanson face the additional charges breach of probation and driving under suspension, respectively.
Details were also released Wednesday regarding a similar drug bust at a residence on Hilltop Drive, just a few kilometres away, two weeks ago on Aug. 8.
In that case 22 grams of heroin were seized and three people were arrested for possession of heroin, trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Police say they are concerned about the growth of drug trafficking in the community and ask people who see any suspicious activity to contact them.
