Daniel P. Reeve, the embattled financial advisor, has been remanded in custody at a court appearance in Kitchener on Friday.
Mary Cremer has been retained as his lawyer, and she says Reeve definitely intends to fight the charges.
However, the court heard they need time to go through all the documentation associated with the case.
Reeve is charged with fraud and theft over $5,000 in connection with his work as a financial advisor in Waterloo Region.
About 175 people are estimated to have lost around $30 million though their investments with Reeve.
His next court appearance via video will be on Aug. 17.
