Provincial police say a woman is dead and seven others are injured after a fiery crash west of Toronto on Thursday night.
OPP spokeswoman Const. Lauren Ball says the crash occurred just before 11 p.m. in Oakville and involved seven vehicles.
She says a tractor trailer burst into flames on the eastbound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth Way near Trafalgar Road.
Ball says a 34-year-old woman from Niagara Falls was discovered dead in a car pinned between a concrete barrier and the tractor trailer early Friday morning as crews cleared the road.
She says seven others were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ball says the Toronto-bound lanes of the highway are closed and it is not known when they will reopen.
