About a dozen police officers raced to a Cambridge home Wednesday afternoon only to find a false alarm.

Police, EMS and fire crews were called to a home on Highgrove Court in Blair after receiving a call saying someone had been shot at that address.

Patrol officers, a canine unit and tactical squads surrounded the home.

Officers eventually made their way in, but came back out empty-handed after determining the information in the call to be fake.

Police continue to investigate the source of the call. Making a false report to police can result in mischief charges.
